We provide a training service to the NHS Leeds PCT that gives both systems and soft skills training.

GP Medical Notes Summarising

The GP Notes Summarising course is aimed at administration staff in GP surgeries whose role includes that of Medical Notes Summariser and aims to give an understanding of the importance of the role and best practise guidance.  This course takes delegates through the importance of Read Codes within the clinical systems they use.  It also includes several Read Code exercises to show the delegates the structure of the codes and gives the delegates an opportunity to summarise a set of patient notes.

This course also covers basic anatomy and the structure of medical terms used as this gives the non medical staff an awareness of the conditions they may come across when summarising a set of patient notes.

The Notes Summarising course is delivered through the PCT, but can be arranged directly with the general practice.
